YOUR EXEQUATUR IN SPAIN, IN FOUR STEPS.
STEP 1: GATHER THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
The documents we need are:
- A copy of the sentence, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin and, containing the Hague Apostille.
- An official translation of the sentence, if it is not in Spanish.
- An authenticated photocopy of your ID.
- A document proving that the sentence is final, that is, cannot be appealed (*)
- A document proving that the sentence was communicated to the other party, or, if applicable, that it was issued in his absence (*).
(*) These two documents are necessary only in the event that what they prove (irrevocability, and notification to the other party or his absence) cannot be deduced from the sentence itself. If the text of the sentence clearly states that points, these documents will not be necessary.
If the exequatur concerns a divorce sentence, we will also need:
- Literal marriage certificate.
- Literal birth certificate of the children, if there are any.
- Document of agreement, if the divorce was by mutual agreement.

STEP 2: GRANT US A POWER OF ATTORNEY
A power of attorney is granted by you to us before a notary, or, if you live abroad, before the Spanish consul. It is the document that allows us to act on your behalf before the courts.
The notary or the consul already have a template of the document, therefore you only need to bring your ID. The cost will range between 30 and 60 euros.

- Where is the nearest notary, or, if you live abroad, which consulate you should go to.
STEP 3: PAY THE FEES
For exequatur procedures for which you already have all the documents mentioned above, our fees amount to 495 EUR + VAT (21%), and include our attorney´s
For procedures with extra difficulties, or in case you do not have all the necessary documents, please contact us.
